Recently instructors have utilized electronic media such as the Microsoft Power Point and cyber
campus in their classes at University. Using electronic media is worth when they help educational
communication. This paper is focusing on what university students have really experienced
through the communication using electronic media with teachers or other students. For this
research I have made out semi-structured questionnaire survey for 125 students of four-year
colleges in Seoul. I have investigated for the answers of the students and tried to analyze the
frequency of the vocabularies which have been used for the survey answers and interpretate
them. The results have shown that the students belong in the electronic generation, so they fast
paced and generally support the use of the media in classes. But at the same time they have
recognized the dysfunction of the media. It also have shown that professors have often utilized
electronic media to convey a lot of knowledge, sometimes it has promoted students more passive.
Students want temperate using of media. Electronic media has two sides, so it help concentration
and convenience but it may boosts positiveness. so teacher should search moderate spot and
reduce these dysfunctions. they need ability of oral statement and sincerity to meet students
deeply. Instructional media is not a convey but ecological surroundings connecting with students'
life. In this understanding, we should be aware of the limit of the electronic media and reduce the
dysfunctions.
