전자미디어 활용은 교육에서의 소통에 도움이 될 때에만 그 가치를 인정받을 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 파워포인트와 사이버캠퍼스 등 전자미디어를 활용한 수업이 대학생들에게 어떤 소통의 경험으 로 작용하고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울시내 4년제 대학 학생 약 125명에게 반구조화된 설 문조사를 실시하였고 답변을 분류하고 분석하였다. 그 결과 전자미디어 활용이 학생의 이해와 집중을 돕는 편리한 도구이지만, 소통의 양상이 지식의 전달에 치우쳐 있고 학생들의 수동성을 조장하는 측 면들도 드러나고 있었다. 소통은 촉진되지만 직접적 대면관계의 필요성도 드러나고 있었다. 학생들은 단순한 미디어의 활용 여부나 흥미 진작보다는 절제된 사용을 바라고 있었다. 분석결과를 토대로 논 의해 볼 때, 전자미디어 활용의 집중력 제고와 편리함 등의 장점은 수동성을 초래하는 단점으로 양면 적으로 작용함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 그 역기능을 줄이고 적절한 상태를 찾아가는 노력이 필요하다. 소통의 질 차원에서 전달과 낮은 이해의 수준에 머물고 있는 소통의 경험을 인격적 만남의 차원으로 상승시키려는 노력이 필요한데, 이를 위해 구술적 바탕과 교사의 성실함이 요구되었다. 수업미디어는 단순한 도구가 아니라 학생들의 삶과 연결된 생태적 환경이다. 이러한 인식을 바탕으로 전자미디어의 한계를 인식하고 역기능을 줄여가려는 노력이 필요하다.
Recently instructors have utilized electronic media such as the Microsoft Power Point and cyber campus in their classes at University. Using electronic media is worth when they help educational communication. This paper is focusing on what university students have really experienced through the communication using electronic media with teachers or other students. For this research I have made out semi-structured questionnaire survey for 125 students of four-year colleges in Seoul. I have investigated for the answers of the students and tried to analyze the frequency of the vocabularies which have been used for the survey answers and interpretate them. The results have shown that the students belong in the electronic generation, so they fast paced and generally support the use of the media in classes. But at the same time they have recognized the dysfunction of the media. It also have shown that professors have often utilized electronic media to convey a lot of knowledge, sometimes it has promoted students more passive. Students want temperate using of media. Electronic media has two sides, so it help concentration and convenience but it may boosts positiveness. so teacher should search moderate spot and reduce these dysfunctions. they need ability of oral statement and sincerity to meet students deeply. Instructional media is not a convey but ecological surroundings connecting with students' life. In this understanding, we should be aware of the limit of the electronic media and reduce the dysfunctions.
