The purpose of this study is to identify the consisitency between elemenatray school students' sex-role stereotyping extracurricular activities and students' ability and interest. For this purpose, the main problems tested were: (1)to indentify the sex-role stereotyping extracurriclar activiteis, (2)to identify the consistency of boy-and girl-students' intersts to sex-role stereotyping extracurricular activities, and The subjects of this study were 148 elementary students(boys:80, girls:68).
The questionnaire is compoed of two kinds of questions: the one is composed of the questions to indentify specific extracurricular activiteis as male' activities, or females' activiteis, or both's activities. And the other is composed of the questions whether to be interested in((1) to be interested in and be able to leader, (2)to be interested in, or (3)not to be interested in). To identify sex-role steroyping activities and the differences of males' and females' attitudes to the activities, chi square test was apllied.
The main findins are follows:
1. The activities of students' council considered as males' activities have no relations with intersts of each sex, but female' activites are consistent with girls' intersts.
2. The club activities as considered as males' activities are athletic activities, and females' activities are the productive activiteis.
3. Boys' attitude to rate sex-role stereotyping activiteis is positive more than girls' attitude.
