영문초록

The main purpose of reading is to understand, that is, to comprehend clearly and adequately. An efficient reader varies his methods and his speed to fit the immediate task. Effective reading, therefore, is an active form of inquiry and not a passive exposure to the information, principles, and judgements expressed by a writer. It should be clear that efficient reading is not a single skill but a whole reportory of skills. Moreover, reading methods and reading speed must be adjusted to realize aims successfully. Everyer teacher in our elementary and secondary school classes has at times had experiences with pupils who have serious difficutties in learning how to read. It is urgent, here, to identify the poor readers. Some of these procedures are: 1) Observing pupils while they study. 2) Using interest inventories. 3) Using graded sets of books. 4) Studying Eye Movements during Reading 5) Utilizing various reading Test. And the main factors which frequently underlie reading difficulty are: 1) Poor Visual Perception. 2) Poor Auditory Acuity 3) Immature Eye-Movement Habits 4) Low Academic Aptitude 5) Left-Handedness 6) Mixed Eye-Hand Dominance 7) Emotional Factors 8) Lack of interest 9) Lack of Reading Experience The type of Remedial Treatment to be given a pupil should depend upon the character of the diagnosis which is made. If physical factors seem to play a part in the disability, medical attention should be provided at the outset. If the diagnosis should reveal that the pupil has low mental ability as measured by noreading as will as reading types of intelligence test, procedures should be followed whicth take this fact into account. Since the reading ability refers to practice, in short, planned exercise and repeated habit are the key problem which will affect to the effective reading. .
