The main purpose of this study is 1) to understand the method of Dewey’s philosoph. 2) to find materials that will be helpful in comparing with other studies. The results of the study are summarized as follows: We can understand J. Dewey’s Theory of Quest in the Logic as the logic of experimental experience, that is, quest, for him, is an interaction between thinking and behaviour, theory and practice. He regarded logic as an instrument to solve problems. According to Dewey, quest is to get control, leading to transiti on from an unstable situation to a stable situation. In this, a stable situation means that the various factors of the original situation are changed until the whole becomes united and stable in relation to the various constituent characteristics. Therefore, when the balance of behaviour is unstable, need, quest and achievement appear an unstable situation constitutes a need. Themovement attempting to restore balance is a quest and restoration is an achievement and solution. The logic of quest has an independence in itself, method is formed as its application and the problem is solved by dealing with it. But as reality and behaviour can never be separated, he thinks there is reality and behaviour at the bottom of logic. The logic of J Dewey is distinctly classified in the tranditional way of formal and dialectic. Therefore, quest, in his opinion, means science. Scientific method is the systemetic development of human reason in the course of everyday life. It points at results.
