Today's world population is 3.6 billion and over, which is the fourteen and a half times the population estimated at 200 million to 300 million in the beginning era of Christ. In the light of demographic transition process, human population has increased throughout the ages though the records show its decrease in certain periods and regional areas. The present world population is considered as a tremondous figure even today, but it will be projected about 7.2 billion at 2.0% annual average rate of natural increase within about 35 years. This indicates that rapid growth of population cannot but menace human being's living circumstances owing to the limited okumene space and natural resources in the earth planet. Therefore population issues is now a serious world problem.
Most of developing countries have adopted and strongly pushed the birth control movement for low fertility under family planning program. In Korea, during the period of 1972 to 1976 for its the third economic development plan, natural increase of population will remain at 1.5% through family planning program. It is admitted by the International Planned Parenthood Federation that family planning program adopted by the Korean government have achieved a considerable degree of success. But there is a restriction as to Family Planning Program which is concerned with only married adults with children.
The flow to search out the attainment way of smaller family size depended on betterment of home budget about 20 years ago, family planning program about 10 years ago, and now population education. Population education Philip M. Hauser advocated insertion of in school curricula for the first time in 1962 was intensified through educational campaign in both primary and secondary school programs by Bernard Berelson in 1969, and then Nöel-David Burleson emphasized the importance and urgent necessity of formal education program on population dynamics for school age children in 1969. Despite some arguments against the use of school system, since 1969, the main focus of population education has been placed on direct and substantial curricula development and preparation of teaching materials for population dynamics and awareness.
Taking a long view of population modernization for low birth and death rates, it would be desirable to see that school students should be aware of the necessity of family planning behavior through population education which is aimed at giving as many opportunities as possible for them to achieve rational understanding of their responsibilities as citzens and parents for having small family and taking good care of their children in adult life in addition to carrying out family planning program. This will be justified by the fact that of total Korea's population the composition of young generation at the ages of 14 and below was 48.50% in 1966 and is estimated at 35.29% in 1980 and that elementary and secondary schools students constituted 24.83% in 1970.

In principle, the classified content of the population education which schemed out by the multidisciplinary approach should be instructed by subject matter. This study on school population education covers the resource topics pertaining to Demographic Education to be dealt with in mathematics subject for grades 7 to 9, and thus presents reference data for teacher curriculum coordinator and textbook writer because that the inclusion ways of demographic education in the mathematics course are both “Infusion” and “Through Teacher.”
In conclusion, this study aim at;
1. having the student mathematically understand the concept, principle and rule of replacement process of human population on the living environment,
2. having the students build up attitude and ability to look into statistically the composition and change in population behavior,
3. having the students estimate population projection by the enumeration to count all the persons at present and with the records of vital events to occur in a calendar year, and
4. having the students recognize the need of and experience the opportunity for vital registration.
