영문초록

This study is to inquire into new trends and new perspectives on school organization and adminisration. The development of educational administration theories is devided into three periods. They are scientific managements are rooted in empirical approach based on logicpositivism. As a result of a critique for the traditional perspectives, new perspectives were emerged. These are phenomenological perspectives and critical perspectives. And trends in the study of educational administration are as follows; 1. views of human being passive man → active man instrumental man → purposive man heteronomous man → autonomous man rational man → irrational man 2. views of organization closed organization → open organization rational organization → natural organization bureaucratic coupling → loosely coupling organization 3. contents of study quantiative study → qualitative study behavior centered → contingency centered efficiency in organization → satisfaction for the participants goal centered → process centered theory centered → Integration in theory and practice 4. methods of study deductive thinking → inductive thinking objective method → subjective method value free → value oriented logic-positivism → interpretive simple variabele centered → multiple variables centered partial study → integrated study discription method → explanation method structural functionism → symbolic interaction This dichotomy may involove the risk. But through this classification, we can overview the trends in the study of educational administration. And it must not be ignored the previous perspectives. So it needs to discuss this new perspectives and clasification. Promising signs are emerging in the educational administration field. But they involve lots of tasks. They are ① discussion on the philosophical issues related to the educational administration. ② efforts to establish the Korean educational administration, ③ efforts to establish the Korean education administration. ④ pursuit of diversity in the study of educational administration. ⑤ efforts for the integration in the theory and practice. ⑥ widening interdisciplinary study with other disciplines.
