The purpose of the study is in assessing and comparing the life goals and trait self-ratings of the Korean and American college freshmen, The populations of the study consisted of all freshmen who entered Michigan State University(MSU, N=5,468), Fall term, 1970, and all freshmen who entered Kyung-pook National University(KNU, N=983), March 1971. 643 students were randomly selected for the MSU sample and nearly all students in KNU were used.
