In the continuing theoretical discussion over the social consequences of the selection and distribution of school know ledge, the image of classrooms as neutral or apolitical environments unrelated to a socially stratified society is increasingly untenable. In this sense, critical theorists of late (from reproduction theories to Resistance theories) have described and processes by which the curriculm in use influences beliefs and practice and eventually connects with economic and political structures. In this article, however, the concept of ‘Social Resistance' will be presented as a conceptual framework in such a way as to show the educational relationship to the society and the central issues surrounding ‘education’ as an institution with this concept will be discussed. In conformity with this term, the purpose of the study was to attempt to describe the place of Social Resistance theory with theories of Reproduction and to discuss some major theoretical limitations of other approaches. Also, in this study, it was sought to suggest ther ationale for learning society may be employed for minimizing social re-sistance forces to education.
