The objective of this study is to provide a basic data of parents' education for the development of
multiple intelligence of the children by observing what kind of relation exists between multiple intelligence
of the childhood that is an important time of multiple intelligence development and mother's rearing
attitude. Research problem was; What kind of relation exists between mother's rearing attitude and
multiple intelligence of the children? and What is an explanation power of mother's rearing attitude for
the multiple intelligence of the children? In this study, an analysis was performed through questionnaire by
selecting 160 mothers of children attending A kindergarten located at Gyeongnam region as research
subjects and for statistic processing, SPSS WIN 12.0 was used. As MI test tool for the children,
KC-MIDAS (Korean Child-MIDAS) scale that was adapted and modified by Cheong, Dae Hyeon and Ji,
Seong Ae (2003) and of which reliability and validity were verified by them was used and as test tool for
mother's rearing attitude, Maternal Behavior Research Instrument (MBRI) of Schaefer (1959) that was
modified and supplemented by Kim, Bo Young (2005) was used. First, as a result of performing simple
correlation analysis in order to explore a relation between mother's rearing attitude and multiple
intelligence of the children, a statistically significant correlation was represented in such relation. Second, as
a result of performing multiple regression analysis in order to explore how much effect mother's rearing
attitude would exert on overall MI of the children, explanation power of mother's rearing attitude was
represented to be 38.2%. On the other hand, it was revealed that mother's rearing attitude did not have
a statistically significant explanation power for the musical intelligence of the children.
