Toegye(退溪) Lee Hwang(李滉: 1501～1570) left 2,230 Sino-Korean poetries. These are relatively a lot in Sino-Korean literature history. Therefore, there are 130 works of researches on Toegye's Sino-Korean poetries. Basic research including original copies work, unearthing work, index work, assorting works by date were also conducted. Studies for poetry of maehwa, general Sino-Korean poetry, poetics, relations to literature have been conducted in relation to natural beauty. However, existing researches should be reviewed, and new and various research method should be used to totally reinterpret Toegye's Sino-Korean poetries. Toegye's poetry should be translated and 'Dictionary for Toegye's poetry words' should be published for younger students to read and study Toegye's poetry easily. 'Hwadap(Responding) Poetry' and 'Seol-ri (Intelligential) Poetry' should be researched a lot. Academy journal should be more published and other studies related to Toegye poetry should be adopted to extend literature. Especially, study to find philosophy shown in poetries should be conducted. Until now, it has been too much emphasized that Toegye is oriental philosopher and it is relatively neglected that Toegye is poet. From now on, study on poetry will find that Toegye is a poet and philosopher. Literature and philosophy should be complementary each other through the study on Toegye's poetry.
