The purpose of this study was to test the pass model which it was investigated whether self-esteem and sexual assertiveness have moderating effects in the pathway from adult attachment to consent to unwanted sex on our pass model. For these aims of this study, data were collected from 355 students(186 males, 169 females) in four college students in Seoul. Chungchengbuk-do, kyungsang-do, who has consented to unwanted sex with dating partner over once in this study. For the analyses of mediating effects and the method of structural equation modelling was used. The results were following. First, the complete mediating model, from adult attachment through self-esteem and sexual assertiveness to consent to unwanted sex, was identified. It shows that personal adult attachment has influence consent to unwanted sex through several processes which adult attachment positively affects self-esteem, in turn self-esteem influences sexual assertiveness positively and sexual assertiveness influences consent to unwanted sex negatively. Second, goodness of fit of our pass model was identified whether self-esteem and sexual assertiveness have moderating effects in the pathway from adult attachment to consent to unwanted sex. These results suggest that in order to reduce consent to unwanted sex with dating partner, interventions are needed, self-esteem and sexual assertiveness is a much stronger variable to intervene the relationship between adult attachment and consent to unwanted sex.
