본 연구는 한국의 박물관건축 발전과정과 새 국립박물관의 프로그램 내용 그리고 국제설계경 기를 통해 얻어진 당선작의 특징과 문제점을 제시하였다. 논문의 세부내용은 ① 한국의 박물관건축 발전 과정을 시대별로 구분해서 연구되었고 ② 신축 프로그램은 본인의 책임아래 이 방면의 관련 전문가가 협동해서 연구된 것으로 한국 의 박물관 건립 사상 최초의 작업내용이다. ③ 새 국립박물관 당선작에 대한 특성과 문제점을 제시함으로써 건설단계에서 수정되고 보완 되어야 할 사항을 제시하고 있다. 이 연구는 한국의 박물관건축 발전에 도움이 될 기초적 연구이며, 이 방면의 종사자나 관련연 구자에게 유익한 정보자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.
This study focused on the development of the museum architecture of Korea, program of the newly-schemed National Museum of Korea, and the characteristics and problems of the awarded project through the international design competition for the new museum. Brief summary of the study is as follow： 1. The development of museum architecture in Korea is analyzed in chronological order. 2. The program for the newly-schemed national museum of Korea was the first program with direct in-puts and cooperation from a group of museum related specialists and consultants under my personal supervision and responsibility. This program will be the landmark piece in the history of museum architecture in the nation. 3. Analytical study of the characteristics and programs of the winning project for the national museum of Korea. There are suggestion proposed on the winning design at the end of study to be reflected in the time of actual construction. This study should be a basic guide for the museum architecture in Korea as well as a valuable reference for those who need museum related information.
