The modem sαiety has increased the opportunity to encounter various cultures and values due to frequent materialistic and human exchange intemationally along with the development of communication and transportation. Specifically, the channels for encountering different culture through online became diverse as well as the movement of population while the life style at on/off sites followed by the development of social infrastructures is ge띠ng rapidly changed unlike in the past 깐le ‘multicultural education' started along with the minority human rights movement of the United States is interpreted and asserted in various perspectives ever since, the education targeting multicultural farnilies could be considered as the starting point in case of our country. The ‘multicultural education' in our country had emerged imperfectly by placing the sociocultural change explained before at the background and could be comprehended as the education followed by the structural necessity of multicultural society which is rapidly in progress. Recently, although the problems are indicated by skeptical perspective toward ‘multiculturalism’ that has been theoretic background of ‘multicultural education' in Europe and the United States, the multicultural education placing the bas엄 on the understanding of multicultural society based on ‘plural’ perspective or pluralism is still essential. Especially, our country where the domestic foreign residents reach up to 1.18 million people in 2010 has entered the multicultural society and at a point of requiring multicultural education targeting the multitude of people living with them which is not targeting multicultural fanlilies and foreigners perfonned for the most part unti1 now. In other words, we must be aware of the problems on the situation where the values and outlook on the world are unable to extend to the rnaterialistic environment although our environment became pluralized along with recognizing and practicing the necessity of education based on the understanding toward decrease of prejudice and pluralism considering various subjects for the education concentrated on mu비ll띠t디tic버ulitur‘떠 families at this ψne. While the museum could be thought of as a scene of education to experience the perspeαives on various cultures, the lecture using virtual museum could be thought of as one specific plan to practice multicultural education. Accordingly, this study has analyzed the virtual museum as an educational environment to encounter various cultures and developed a teaching-learning model that can be utilized in connection with actual lesson has been developed and applied. πle overall curriculum of lecture has been organized into three fields of aesthetic experience, expression and appreciation in the fme art textbook while planning to be studied with expression centered results, linguistic tools (questionnaire), speculation journal, personal conversation and interview as the evaluation on the lecture. π1?S lecture was applied for 4 weeks targeting the students in sixth grade of elementary school while trying to verify the possibility as one form of study model that has connected virtual museum and multicultural education toward this lecture model and verify the change of attitude awareness as an effect of this through the qualitative analysis on the results afterwards.
