As the industrial structure is changing rapidly, the industrial design has been
taken up as a very useful strategy for companies in accomplishing business goals
in the middle of ever-increasing product competition as well as imminent
awareness of crises which lead to the situation we cannot but seek for customers
and develop markets with technology innovation and design. Now companies have
been required to carry out systematically the training of capable industrial
designers. Accordingly, this thesis tries to aim at achieving three goals including
procedures to establish reasonable plans, desirable organizational methods and
development tasks, which constitute the bases in the dimension of basic research
to develop the retraining curriculum for industrial designers within companies. The
research method used an inductive method to draw up the conclusions through the
literature study, which employed the process of collecting, classifying and
analyzing each literature data relating to the retraining of company and design.
As a result, the retraining curriculum for industrial designers with companies
has to start from the needs of individual industrial designer as well as the
company, and its objectives and goals should be clearly stated. In addition, it
should approach organizationally from the planning stage to the structuring stage
and be able to cope with the environmental changes of the time sensitively.
Furthermore, it is high time that the design divisions of universities should
enhance the professionalism of the design education to the level of advancing the
time through reorganizing school curriculum in order to link with the retraining
curriculum of companies as well.
