아동의 표현 발달은 계속적인 변화의 과정이고 같은 연령이라고 해도 다른 발달을 보이기 때문에 발달 순서대로 구분 하는 것은 무리가 있을 것이다.하지만 모든 교육 이 단계를 지어 체계적으로 이루어지고 있고 또 아동의 발달이 어느 정도는 유사한 특징을 보이기 때문에 발달을 순서화하는 것이 무의미하지는 않다.역사적으로도 많 은 학자들이 아동의 평면이나 입체 표현발달에 대해 논하고 있고 그것을 지침으로 다 양한 프로그램들이 만들어졌으며 현재까지도 발달과정에 대한 논의는 약간의 차이를 가지고 있지만 꾸준히 응용되고 있다.그러나 문제는 로웬펠트(V.Lowenfeld),버트 (Cyril.Burt),데이(Day)등 외국학자가 분석한 발달과정을 그것이 발표된 지 50여년 이 지난 지금까지 인용되는 데에 있다.그동안 우리나라 미술교육학자들도 아동들의 작업을 분석하여 발표한 사례가 있음에도 불구하고 일부 미술교육지침서들에는 아직 도 혼용하며 지금의 우리나라 아이들을 이해하는 기준으로 사용하고 있는 것이다.김 춘일(공저,2007)은 이에 대해 우리 아동들에 대한 실천적,경험적,체계적인 연구가 없기 때문이라고 보고 있는데 특히 전도식기에 해당하는 유아미술교재들에서 흔하게 나타난다.
Lowenfeld is a influential scholar who affects the education of the art, his expression development feature has been still cited. But as the time changes at the same time children changes, it is difficult to adopt as it is. In case of the infants who are in pre-schematic stage, they are growing up highly fast. So it is necessary to review. Accordingly in this study one of the feature of the expression development feature of Lowenfeld, regarding Cubist expression, recently it requires consideration from accordance of the Cubist Expression Development feature of Korea's infants. From March 2005 to December 2007, through 18 times, the result of the clay expression is as follows. First, infants tend to express something they are more accustomed to than human. Second, they tend to perform the plane surface than standing work. Contrary to theory of Lowenfeld, it tends strongly to transit from entire to specific description. In the pre-paper of Park Young Ju(2004), it shows that infants who are in pre-schematic stage have the differences in the Cubist Expression as the theory of Lowenfeld has. As it is not merely considered that the child in this stage is different from the theory of Lowenfeld, hereafter I suggest that the Expression development feature should be studied soon.
