The purpose of this study is to review the theory and practice of art museum education in the United States and to look at the current status of museum education in Korea and its feasibility into Korean schooling. Section Ⅱ will devote itself to the development of theories and practices of museum education in the United States by focusing debates on the missions of a museum. In Section Ⅲ. We will examine the relationship between art museum and school art education. In Section Ⅳ. We will look at the current status of museum education in Korea and the school-museum relationship. The last section will be devoted to several recommendations for development of museum education.
