This study focuses on the development of a contemporary framework for art education curriculum contents. The approach was syncretic, an organization of various research methods designed to generate a model out of the data. This multi-data gathering activity with its multiple approach helped to integrate and develop the art education curriculum framework. The procedure of the study utilized the following 3 data generating phases : (1) a review of art curriculum contents in Korea throughout the 1st~7th Korean National Art Curriculum, (2) a review of other country’s art curriculum contents such as U.S, England, and Australia, and (3) a study of theoritical art curriculum contents established by well known art educations. The recommended framework for art curriculum contents consists of Art production Aesthetic, Art history and Art criticism.
