This study aims to investigate trends of hakryuk·hakbul(educational credential·academic . network) researches by considering their history in Korea since 1980s. Research data are theses in Korean academic journals and articles about hakryuk·hakbul. Major trends of hakruk·hakbul researches are as follows: First, In the 1980s Korean scholars and professors began to have academic interest and cognition about haryuk-hakbul in Korean society. They were influenced by foreign academic books and social-educational problems due to industrialization in Korea. Second, In the 1990s their interest in real problems of hakyuk-hakbul resulted in considerable academic achivements and they tried to find realistic reform bills. Third, In the 2000 or so, with interest of the new government, hakryuk·hakbul became a hot topic, and center of research gradually moved from hakryuk to hakbul. Fourth, In the period of Kim's government and Roh's government, as the governments directly pushed reform, many hakryuk·hakbul researches were produced by professor, scholar, civic organizations, and national research institutes. But the comprehensive policy of Roh's government did not fulfil social demands, so critical researches about government policies and hakryuk·hakbul problems were continued. Fifth, Major subjects of researches are stratification by hakryuk·hakbul, socio-cultural phenomena, socioeconomic phenomena, history of hakryuk·hakbul society, hierarchical system of universities, and theory of reformation, etc.
