이 연구는 공동체를 기반으로 한 수업개혁을 일본의 ‘배움의 공동체’의 실천에 초점을 맞추어 검토한 것이다. 배움의 공동체는 현재 일본의 학교개혁을 주도하고 있는 핵심적인 원리로 학교현장에서의 수업연구를 위한 실천적인 개념으로 정착되고 있다. 배움의 공동체의 구축은 학교교육이 하는 일을 사람들(학생, 교사, 학부모, 교육행정 담당자, 교육연구자)의 연대를 기초로 하여 구성되는 실천으로 전환하고 학교라는 장소를 사람들이 공동으로 서로 배우고 성장하며 연대하는 공공적인 공간으로 재구축하는 개혁을 의미한다. 이 연구에서는 먼저, 배움의 공동체 구축을 위한 과제와 제도적 조건들을 이론적으로 검토한 후, 일본 소학교의 사례를 중심으로 배움의 공동체의 구축과정과 실천을 분석하였다. 그리고 마지막으로 이러한 검토와 분석을 토대로 우리나라에서의 배움의 공동체를 기반으로 한 수업개혁의 성공 가능성 및 조건들을 다음과 같이 논의하였다. 첫째, 교내에 수업을 개방하는 문화를 정착시키는 것이 요구된다. 둘째, 수업개혁을 위해서는 교사 상호간에 전문가로서 함께 성장해 갈 수 있는 동료성 (collegiality)을 형성하는 일이 시급하다. 셋째, 학습자의 경험을 축으로 활동적이고 협동적이며 반성적인 수업창조를 위한 교사의 자율성과 전문성을 확보하는 일이다.
This research is about instruction reformation centered around community, and is based on the examination of Japans practice of learning community. The concept of learning community is currently the leading core principle of Japanese educational reform, and it has been established as a teaching site in which teaching practices can be researched. The learning community has been constructed to develop the present method through the regiment of the people who work for school education (students, teachers, parents, people in charge of the education administration). Furthermore, this means that the goal is to construct and reform the school as a place for people to publicly learn and mature together. The goals of this research include the following: 1) To examine theoretically the issues and systematic conditions for the construction of the learning community . 2) To analyze the construction process of the learning community Finally I suggest the success is possible in the learning community on the following conditions apply. 1) There is a requirement for the opening of classes and critiques for people in the school as an informal research study. 2) As a professional teacher, the demand for the formation of collegiality is an utmost priority. 3) In order to create a class through the experiences of the students, the instructor needs to have an autonomy and expertise on the subject matter.
