In Korea, the topic of generation has experienced a renaissance in the last five to ten years.
Nonetheless, the scientific community, especially the sociology of education is indifferent to that
issue. This situation is to a certain extent astonishing, if we keep in view, that the classical theorists
of the sociology of education attach great importance to the relationship between education and
generation. This study amis to restore the theme of generation to the key concept of the sociology of
education. For this purpose, this study tries to generation-theoretically reconstruct of educational
moratorium model, and to apply this reconstructed one for analyzing the current school crisis in
Korea.
