국문초록

현대 사회는 21세기로 접어들면서 문화, 경제, 과학 등 여러 분야의 비약적 발전으로 거듭나고 있으며 그 중 보건의료분야는 과학기술의 발달과 인권향상을 바탕으로 다양한 변화를 겪고 있다(Oh, 2011). 간호계도 건강관리 체계가 다양해지고 질 높은 서비스가 요구됨에 따라 간호 기술과 지식이 변화에 발맞춰 성장하고 있으며, 의료 환경과 사회 구조의 변화, 사회적 요구가 변화하게 되면서 다양한 역할 수행의 필요성이 강조되고 있다(Kim & Kim, 2009; Park, 2000). 특히 2008년 1월부터 법률시장 개방에 대비하여 일반 국민이 배심원으로 재판에 직접 참여하는 배심제도가 도입됨으로써 증거재판주의를 강조하는 등 사법 환경이 변화함에 따라 영향을 받은 의료 환경은 간호사에게 간호 대상자로부터 실제적 증거를 수집, 기록하는 법의간호학적 역할 수행을 요구하게 되었다(Jeong, 2007; Jo, 2012; Kim, 2011). 현재 사회적으로 대두되고 있는 성폭력 관련 범죄는 조두순 사 건(2008.12), 김길태 사건(2010.2)을 비롯하여 2000년 10,189건에서 2009년 16,156건으로 증가 추세를 보이고 있으며(Ministry of Gender Equality & Family, 2010), 아동·노인 학대 또한 점차 증가하고 있다. 이러한 사회적 문제들은 일부 단체를 중심으로 상담을 진행해 오 던 방식에서 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 피해는 물론 가족관계에까지 영향을 미친다는 그 심각성에 대한 인식의 증가에 따라 의료, 수사 및 법률 분야와 협력하는 형태로 변하고 있다(Cho, 2012).

영문초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the student’s awareness of the forensic nurse’s role and needs for forensic nursing education. This is to provide basic data in order to develop the forensic nursing education program. Methods: The questionnaire was done by 355 nursing students at 12 different nursing colleges from March 1 to April 30, 2013. To analyze the data, the SPSS 18.0 program was used and ANOVA was carried out to see the differences of cognition concerning the need of schooling and the forensic nurse’s role. Results: There was significant difference on the intention of participation in forensic nursing education according to the recognized forensic nurse’s role (p=.010). There was no significant difference on the needs of the education, but there were increased educational demands when awareness of the forensic nurse’s role was the higher group (3.44±0.16) rather than the lower group (3.33±0.22). Conclusion: This study demonstrated the nursing student’s needs concerning forensic nursing education. Therefore, we suggest the development of a forensic nursing curriculum.
