사회복지사들이 다양한 다문화가족에 대해 개입해야 하는 상황에 처해있기 때문에 사회복지전공 학생들의 문화적 역량을 증진시키는 것은 필요하다. 본 연구는 사회복지 (관련)전공생들의 문화적 역량을 증진시키기 위한 요인을 탐색하고자 함을 목적으로 한 다. 특히 사회복지전공생의 문화적 민감성과 문화적 역량의 관계를 파악해보고자 문화 적 민감성의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 3년제(전문대학교), 4년제 대학교에서 사회복지를 전공하고 있는 320명의 자료를 분석에 활용하였으며, 다중회귀분석4을 활용 하여 검증하였다. 분석결과, 다문화적 경험이 많을수록 문화적 민감성과 문화적 역량이 높게 나타났으며, 문화적 민감성은 문화적 역량에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타 났다. 또한 다문화적 경험과 문화적 역량과의 관계는 문화적 민감성에 의해 부분매개 되었다. 이러한 결과는 다문화경험이 사회복지전공생들의 문화적 민감성과 문화적 역량 에 중요한 영향요인이 되는 것을 보여주며, 특히 다문화경험이 많을수록 문화적 민감성 이 증가하여 문화적 역량에 긍정적인 영향을 준다는 것을 보여주는 것이다.
It is necessary to develop cultural competence of social work students because of increasing social worker’s intervention for multicultural families. This study aimed to investigate the factor that promote social worker students' cultural competence. The mediating effect of cultural sensitivity was especially analysed in order to determine the relationship between cultural encounter/experiences and cultural competence of social worker students. The 320 questionnaires were completed and returned by students who major in social welfare in college and university. The factors were tested using regression method. In conclusion, first, as cultural encounter/experiencing was higher, cultural competence and cultural sensitivity was higher. In addition, multicultural sensitivity was a significant predictor of cultural competence. Second, the test for mediating effect is demonstrated that cultural sensitivity partly is mediated the relationship between cultural encounter/experiencing and cultural competence. Therefore, various multicultural education and cultural encounter programs for social work students are required for development of cultural competence.
