The objective of this study is exploring the curriculum development directions of the Taekwondo based on the critical analysis of the present Taekwondo classes. the four of Taekwondo instructors in Seoul metropolitan region were selected and the data were collected through the in-depth interviews. These were analyzed by the areas and dividing analysis of Spradley(1979), First, The operating of the Taekwondo class was analyzed, dividing the area of the education preparation, and actual education dimensions. Concretely, the Taekwondo curriculum needs the settlement on its philosophy, theory, and practice. Also The problems related to the lack of references for grounded theory, and practice need to be resolved as well. This paper suggests the need for the individualization of the Taekwondo education, and also dualization of the theoretical and practical instruction. Second, the result of education deduction and assessment, and the meaningful feedbacks should be required. Specifically, it points out the limitation of the result of education deduction and assessment process. Third, considering the curriculum development principals, standards, and decision making factors, the development basis for educational contents helping the Taekwondo trainee is suggested for the curriculum development directions of Taekwondo, based on critical analysis of the present education.
