The purposes of this study were to identify the causes of the classroom crisis. For this study, 5,670 students, 1,428 teachers, and 4,051 parents were responded to questionnaire made by authors. They were sampled from elementary, middle, general high, and technical high schools located at Seoul, metropolitan city, small cities, and rural areas. As causes of the crisis, students who lack of basic etiquette and basic scholastic ability, teachers who lack of love for students and of morale, over protective home, the cramming system of school education, fever for education of society, and college entrance policy of government were listed. Among them, college entrance policy and fever for education were indicated commonly from all respondents. There were significant differences of perceptions on classroom crisis among teachers, students, and parents. Teachers pointed out government and society as the causes while students and parents pointed out students. Solutions of the crisis were listed by government, society, school, and teachers respectively.
