This study conducted a survey of 300 elementary school students in Gwanju to analyze the effects of an educational biking activity for physical education classes. It examined the effects of the activity on the students' health, leisure activities, and satisfaction levels. To measure these three concepts, the study used the questionnaire form of Lee Ho-Il (2009) and Park Se-Jun (2014) after verifying its reliability and validity. The data collected through the questionnaire underwent frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis. The study had the following findings. First, depending on its level, the biking activity had an effect on the students' interest, familarity, health, safety awareness, and sociability - all elements of the leisure activities of elementary school students. Second, in terms of satisfaction with their physical education classes, depending on the level, the biking activity had an effect on the environment of the physical education class and students' mobility abilities. Third, depending on the participation level, the biking activity had an effect on the students' health, leisure activities, and satisfaction with physical education classes. In summary, the study indicates that a biking activity needs to be actively encouraged for elementary physical education classes with a view to enhancing the students' good health and knowledge of traffic safety, as well as a sound leisure culture.
