This study is to examine the responses of the residents on the 2000
Kyongju World Cultural Expo using factor analysis and multiple
regression equation. The factor analysis in this study identified three
positive and three negative factors, respectively.
The multiple regression analysis presented positive responses such as
the participation of the residents and the perception on the success of
the event, and also showed negative ones such as the less satisfaction
to their expectation. These results seem to have been most influenced
by the socio-cultural factors.
On the other hand, the economic favors, the perception of the
benefits and the resident alienation by the event are presented to have
been most influenced by the economic factor. Therefore, the regional
culture events are expected to be conceived and arranged so as to
induce the positive participation of the residents and to contribute to
the regional economy as well.
