본 연구의 목적은, 개별 학습자의 ‘미적 지각’을 촉진하는 것이 미술교육의 핵심 기능이며, ‘미적 지각’ 능력의 함양은 미술교과의 고유한 특성으로서 시지각 문해 기술의 학습과정에서 보다 수월하게 이루어질 수 있음을 논증하는 것이다. 연구자는, 허버트 리드 외 여러 학자들과 마찬가지로, 이 주제를 미적 교육의 전통으로부터 물려받은 미술교육학의 학문적 연구과제로서 적극 수용한다.
My thesis is: To foster growth of ‘Aesthetic Perception’ in individuals should be the fundamental purpose of Arts Education. It\'s what I called, as a Aesthetic Education. Aesthetic perceptivity make a person see something beyond the ordinary ways of seeing the world. The more extended the degree of aesthetic sensitivity, the more the degree of opportunities for detecting aesthetic possibilities, the closer to the heart of the world.
