Wen-Da, Kwon Jung-son, Kim Hoy-yong 부산대학교 교육발전연구소 교육혁신연구 36 Pages
부산대학교 교육발전연구소 교육혁신연구 2017, 제 27권 제 4호 15 309-344 (36 pages)
concealed in liberal education by reviewing three basic concepts?familiarity, freedom and learning? from the perspective of Michael Oakeshott. Method: Firstly, we discover that there are two intractable crises in education on account of the observation of history and current situations. The first relates to the sustainability of the conservative disposition and the second to the invitation of liberal learning. They are organically interconnected in that the realisation of the latter, in a way,... -

Early Childhood Teacher’s Approach to Assessment: A Look at Data Collection, Organization, and Lesson Planning Practices
Grace Keengwe 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 22 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2020, Vol.14 No.3 1 1-22 (22 pages)
While assessment is key in every field of learning, how it is accomplished determines the outcome. The early childhood grades present a challenge as children are young and of different abilities. There isn’t a standard way early childhood programs are required to measure assessment and many programs use varied assessment approaches. Thus, information on if teachers do actually collect data and how they use that data is lacking in assessment research of early childhood programs. This study... -

documentation and assessment in early childhood education (ECE) encourage children to be active contributors to their own learning journey. The growing emphasis on technology in society is changing assessment practices, with the introduction of e-portfolios into ECE, extending traditional documentation methods. Despite their growing popularity in New Zealand ECE settings, little research into their impact on children and their learning has been undertaken to date. This study examined children's... -

time, on the tasks of number comparison, calculation, shifting, and inhibition but not on number line estimation. The components of executive function (shifting, inhibition, and working memory) showed different patterns of correlation to performance on number processing tasks across the early years of school. Findings could be used to enhance teachers’ understanding about the role of the cognitive processes employed by children in numeracy learning, and so inform teachers’ classroom practices. -
