An Integrated Modeling Approach for Predicting Potential Epidemics of Bacterial Blossom Blight in Kiwifruit under Climate Change
Kwang-Hyung Kim, Young Jin Koh 한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 14 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2019, 35권 5호 7 459-472 (14 pages)
increasing variation in climatic conditions under climate change directly influences plant-microbe interactions. To account for as many variables as possible that may play critical roles in such interactions, the use of an integrated modeling approach is necessary. Here, we report for the first time a local impact assessment and adaptation study of future epidemics of kiwifruit bacterial blossom blight (KBB) in Jeonnam province, Korea, using an integrated modeling approach. This study included a... -
Extraction and characterization of lignin from black liquor and preparation of biomass-based activated carbon therefrom
Daeyeon Kim, Jinsil Cheon, Jeonghoon Kim, Daekyun Hwang, Ikpyo Hong, Oh Hyeong Kwon, Won Ho Park, Donghwan Cho 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 8 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.22 14 81-88 (8 pages)
In the present study, biomass-based lignin was extracted from industrial waste black liquor and the extracted lignin was characterized by means of attenuated total reflectance- Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The extracted lignin was carbonized at different temperatures and then activated with steam at 850oC. The extracted lignin in powder state was transformed into a bulky carbonized lignin due to possible fusion between the lignin... -
Microwave-assisted pretreatment technologies for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to sugars and ethanol: a review
Pradeep Puligundla, Sang-Eun Oh, Chulkyoon Mok 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 10 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.17 No.1 1 1-10 (10 pages)
Lignocellulosic biomass conversion to biofuels such as ethanol and other value-added bio-products including activated carbons has attracted much attention. The development of an efficient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly pretreatment process is a major challenge in lignocellulosic biomass to biofuel conversion. Although several modern pretreatment technologies have been introduced, few promising technologies have been reported. Microwave irradiation or microwave-assisted methods (physical and... -

cause mortality to the root knot nematode eggs and juveniles. Pot and greenhouse tests showed that application of 0.08% LTM-m could achieve a great reduction of both diseases and significantly increase plant fresh weight. Greenhouse trials revealed that application of LTM- m could change soil properties, including soil pH value, electric conductivity, and soil organic matter. Our re- sults indicate that application of LTM-m bio-organic amendments could effectively manage soil-borne pathogens. -
Preparation of Nanomaterial Wettable Powder Formulations of Antagonistic Bacteria from Phellodendron chinense and the Biological Control of Brown Leaf Spot Disease
Yanling Zeng, Han Liu, Tianhui Zhu, Shan Han, Shujiang Li 한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 17 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2021, 37권 3호 2 215-231 (17 pages)
Brown leaf spot disease caused by Nigrospora guilin- ensis on Phellodendron chinense occurs in a large area in Dayi County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China each year. This outbreak has severely reduced the production of Chinese medicinal plants P. chinense and caused substantial economic losses. The bacterial isolate JKB05 was isolated from the healthy leaves of P. chinense, exhibited antagonistic effects against N. guilinensis and was identified as Bacillus megaterium. The following... -
Induction of Systemic Resistance against Bacterial Leaf Streak Disease and Growth Promotion in Rice Plant by Streptomyces shenzhenesis TKSC3 and Streptomyces sp. SS8
Erneeza Mohd Hata, Mohd Termizi Yusof, Dzarifah Zulperi 한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 9 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2021, 37권 2호 8 173-181 (9 pages)
The genus Streptomyces demonstrates enormous prom- ise in promoting plant growth and protecting plants against various pathogens. Single and consortium treat- ments of two selected Streptomyces strains (Streptomyces shenzhenensis TKSC3 and Streptomyces sp. SS8) were evaluated for their growth-promoting potential on rice, and biocontrol efficiency through induced systemic re- sistance (ISR) mediation against Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc), the causal agent of rice bacterial leaf streak...
