the environment and use of the outdoor learning spaces that contrast with the documents that underpin educator practice. This literature review examines the tensions between the ideal and the reality of children’s and educators’ decision making in outdoor learning spaces. It shows that strong policy alone is not sufficient unless underpinned by an environment in which educators are able to make decisions without fear of litigation and children’s perspectives are heard, respected, and enacted. -

실행공동체를 활용한 교사 전문성 개발 연구 동향 분석: 음악교사 전문성 개발 연구의 시사점을 중심으로

As a European-New Zealand pre-service art teacher educator in the secondary school sector, I was prompted to focus on two professional imperatives: Increasing my emphasis on strategies for pre-service art teachers to embrace pedagogical competencies for teaching art with culturally diverse students; and critically engaging with practicing art teachers, through research in secondary schools, to gauge their cultural responsiveness to students. This paper offers a ‘snapshot’ of both imperatives.
