A morphological study was conducted on corpus allata of both sexes of Acrida cinerea Thunberg. The results are as follows; secretory granules gradually decreased in number nearing every moulting stage, and the cytoplasmic organelles underwent autolysis resulting in numerous vesicles. In moulting stage, none of the granules was found and nearly all of the cytoplasm was occupied by autophasic vesicles. In 1 day after moulting the cell started to be active, constructing organelles and secreting granules, and the largest number of granules were observed in 10 day after moulting in larvae. Little difference was found in larvae of both sexes, while in adult, the secreting activity differed from each other
