본 연구진이 adenylate cyclase에 미치는 영향을 보기 위하여 사용하여 온 사포닌 분획들은 몇 개의 ginsenoside들의 혼합물임이 밝혀졌으며, 두 가지 종류의 ginsenoside가 포화용액 상태에서 이 효소의 작용을 활성화시키는 것을 알았다. 그 하나는 ginsenoside $Rb_1$로 밝혀졌다. 다른 하나의 구조는 아직 확인하지 못하였다.

We report here the finding that previous fractions we have used for testing the effect on the adenylate cyclase were mixtures of several ginsenosides, and there are two kinds of ginsenosides, which, both at the saturated coucentration in methanol, exhibit a stimulating effect on the activity of adenylate cyclase. The one the these ginsenosides was identified as ginsenoside $Rb_1$ and the other one has not yot been identified.
