Pseudomonas synxantha A3에 의한 xanthine dehydrogenase 생성의 조절에 미치는 glyoxylate의 영향을 항생 물질 등을 사용하여 검토하였다. glyoxylate에 의한 효소의 생합성 저해 양식은 chloramphenicol의 단백질 합성 저해기구와 거의 동일한 translation 단계를 저해하는 것으로 추측할 수 있었다. 또한 glyoxylate에 의한 xanthine dehydrogenase 합성의 translation단계의 저해는 만약 효소의 유도배지 등에서 조절 물질인 glyoxylate가 소실되면 효소의 유도는 원래의 수준으로 곧 회복되어 지는 것으로 생각할 수 있었다.
The regulation of xanthine dehydrogenase formation in a strain of Pseudomonas synxantha A3 was studied in the presence of glyoxylate and some antibiotics. The pattern of the enzyme formation by glyoxylate showed almost the same as that by chloramphenicol, and appeared to be influenced at the level of translation. When glyoxylate was removed from induction medium, the formation of xanthine dehydrogenase was relieved from the repression and induced by adenine.
