To investigate the characteristics in the structure of the arthropodan communities associated with Korean pine, which were planted in different years ranging 1 to 11 years, monthly surveys were conducted for the arthropods on tree crown and woody shrub levels, during the period from July, 1985, to May, 1986, except in winter. The results are summarized as fellows ; 1. The dominant group of organisms in the above ground arthropodan community in the pine plantation consisted with 50％ of harvivor insects and 20% of spiders. 2. The total number of the arthropods reached its peak in May, and decreased thereafter. 3. The species components of the arthropodan community in the wood shrubs showed considerable differences with the topographical conditions in the immediate years after deforestation, while, it seemed to decrease in the old plantations, probably because of the inhibitory effect of the pine trees on the undercrown plants. 4. The species diversity of the arthropods in the tree crown increased with the growth of the pine trees, probably because of the increased vertical complexity as well as in the physiological conditions of the pine trees.
