Small bowel intubation is a useful method inthe non-operative decompression of small bowel obstruction and enteral hyperalimentation in malnurished patients. We have tried small bowel intubation with Ventrol tube guided by small bowel enteroclysis guide wire in 12 patients. Ten cases were successfully intubated. In 11 cases of bowel obstruction, 9 cases were intubated and 8 cases were effectively drained. One malnurished patient was improved in nutritional state after enteral hyperalimentation through the intubated tube. We believe this method is an easy and time-saving method in the small bowel decompression.
