Selective salpingography and salpingeal recanalization were performed in 24 women whose chief complaints were infertility in the department of Radiology, Seoul National University Hospital from July to October 1989. A total of 31 obstructed tubes were detected in conventional hysterosalpingography in the 24 women. Selective salpingography was successful in 28 tubes(90%) ; Ostial salpingograph was done in all 28 cases and midisthmic salpingography was also performed in 6 cases. For the 12 tubes showing proximal or midisthmic obstruction in the selective salpingography, recanaliztion was tried and was successful in 5 cases. selective salpingpgraphy is believed to provide more accurate causes and sites of salpingeal obstruction than hysterosalpingography and, in the cases of salpingeal obstruction. recanalization procedure could be followed successfully.
