붉은머리재주나방(Phalera minor)의 유충 혈림프를 75$^{circ}C$에서 열처리하고, QAE Toyopearl 550C column과 TSK gel G 3000SW column을 이용한 column chromatography 방법으로 iron 저장단백질인 ferritin을 정제하였다. Ferritin은 분자량이 748kDa인 당단백질이었으며, 24, 31, 32kDa인 3종의 소단위로 이루어져 있었다. 또한 등전점은 5.8이었으며, tyrosine, isoleucine, leucine이 많이 함유되어 있었다.
The isolation and purification of ferritin, iron transport and storage protein, from Phalera minor(Lepidoptera) were accomplished by heat treatment at 75$^{circ}C$, QAE-Toyopearl 550C column, and TSK gel G 3000SW column chromatography methods. Ferritin was found to have M.W. of 748 kDa and composed of three subunits of 24, 31 and 32kDa. Ferritin had pI value of 5.8, and contained especially large amounts of tyrosine and also isoleucine and leucine. And it contained some sugar but not lipid.
