토양에서 분리된 Bacillus균주에 의한 이질바퀴(P. americana)에서의 생리적.조직병리학적 변화 및 다양한 곤충에 대한 살충효과를 조사하였다. 분리된 Bacillus균주에서 얻어진 외독소는 이질바퀴, 방아깨비 (Acrida cinerea cinerea), 벼메뚜기 (Oxya japonica japonica), 섬서구메뚜기 (Atractomorpha lata), 나비목 유충에 높은 치사효과를 보여주었다. 외독소는 이질바퀴의 총체 및 혈림프 단백질의 전기영동상에 현저한 변화를 유발하였으나, $alpha$-, $eta$-naphthyl acetate esterase활성에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 또한 이질바퀴 중장과 후장상피세포의 세포질 손상을 유발하였다.
Insecticidal effect on various insects and physiological and histopathological changes in Petiplanta americana by new Bacillus sp. that was isolated from soil were observed. The exotoxin obtained from Bacillus sp. exhibited a high lethal efficiency on P. americana, Acrida cinerea cinerea, Oxya japonica japonica, Atractomorpha lata, and Lepidopteran larvae. Electrophoretic pattern of protein in whole body and haemolymph from p. americana significantly changed by exotoxin, but activities of $alpha$-and $eta$-naphthyl acetate esterase did not changed. The exotoxin induce a cytoplasmic disintegration in midgut and hindgut epithelial cells of P. americana.
