Currently, there have been many web mapping services using web GIS software on the Internet. However, these services are not provided for the users service requirements but the engineers. In other words, these services cannot satisfy users with their web mapping requirements over a large volume of a map database. In this paper, we summarize several statistics of web-based GIS by analyzing user`s requests that are based on the query results of the actually running web site, CyberMap. Through the statistics, we can conclude that primary users using Internet GIS are students and employees using computers. The most frequently used time of the Internet GIS is obviously daylight. This work also shows statistical reports of the number of queries, query distribution, query region, and queried business locations. This paper can be used as web-based service model for developing Internet/ wireless Internet mapping services. The statistical analysis of wet-based GIS benefits map database administrators to decide policies and management principles for managing and administrators Internet geographic information systems.
