Today, immigrant women of multicultural family and their children are steadily increasing. As they
grow up, their characteristics develop in each stage facing varieties of problems and desires. Since
multiculturalism has expanded into one of the main society issues, passions of multi-cultural families in
order to adapt in Korean society and Korean School programs have caught society’s attentions. Therefore,
different kinds of policies and education programs have been developed thoroughly to solve problems
shown above. Until today, looking at the flow of the research of The Multicultural Family Education
Program, the first attempt was based on the overall understanding of ‘multiculturalism’ as a new change
in the society. However, policies on multiculturalism have rapidly developed due to the increase of
multi-cultural families; their possible adaptability and their children education became the main social
problems. Even though educational research also has developed alongside, many of the multicultural families
continuously battle through the new society today. The Multiculturalism Family Education Program
officially began to grasp the contents of “Education Program for Multicultural Family” since 2006, which
brought us to uncover around 600 pieces of study from domestic scientific journal until 2014. Those
pieces of articles were centrally investigated by examining studies that had correlation with The
Multicultural Family Education Program. Finally 160 articles have been selected to be the most efficiently
related to The Multiculturalism Family Education Program. Using the content analysis method on the
selected pieces, they were analyzed according to publication date, method of study, target of study, subject
of study, and content of study. Therefore, in order to suggest the direction of future education, this trend
analysis is attempted to propose direction of research.
