The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of laughter therapy on adolescent. The therapy was applied for 8
weeks to middle school student, and its effects on their depression, suicidal ideation, resilience were checked. This was a
quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design. Participants consisted of middle school
students in Incheon City, into experiment group and comparison group after the recruitment of participants who met the selection
criteria. For data analysis, the study was conducted independent t-test using SPSS 20.0, and significant level was 0.05. In this
study, as a result of 8 weeks of laughter therapy, it was found that laughter therapy lowered adolescent depression(t=2.89,
p=.005), suicidal ideation(t=2.71, p=.008) of adolescent, while having improved resilience(t=-2.06, p=.043). In conclusion, this
research suggests a possibility that laughter therapy can have positive effects on depression, suicidal ideation, resilience to
adolescent people. Laughter therapy is an effective intervention for adolescent's depression, suicidal ideation, resilience.
