장애인의 고등교육과 취업과의 연계를 확대하는 것(김은주 외, 2014)은 장애학생 고등교육의 성과와 관련되어 특수교육 발전의 주요 추진 과제이며, 대학에서도 실질적인 결과로 중요 이슈가 되고 있다. 장애 학생이 대학에 입문하는 가장 큰 이유는 안정되고 질 높은 일자리를 갖기 위함이기 때문에 장애대학생의 학습 지원을 넘어서 취업관련 지원이 필요하다. 시각장애 학생의 34% 이상이 고등교육기관에 진학하고 있으며, 그 중 45%이상이 취업에 성공하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 시각장애 대학생이 취업과 관련 하여 체감하는 것은 별개의 문제이고, 지표가 고용의 질을 보장하지 않는다. 본 연구는 현재 대학에 다니 고 있는 시각장애 학생들의 진로와 취업 지원과 관련하여 그들의 경험과 지원 요구를 확인하고 실행적인 진로와 취업 지원 방안을 알아보고자 시각장애 대학생을 대상으로 그룹면담과 개별면담을 실시하였다. 연 구 참여자는 시각장애 대학생 11명이다. 2회의 그룹면담과 1인의 개별면담 자료는 시각장애 대학생이 소 속된 학과의 상담기록과 장애학생지원센터 그리고 취업지원센터 자료와 함께 질적 분석되었다. 질적 분 석한 결과는, (1) 취업 생각: 가까이하기엔 너무 먼 그대 (2) 취업 지원 경험: 내게 너무 써 (3) 지원 요 구: 조금만 더 가까이, 3개와 12개의 하위 주제로 정리되었다. 논의와 결론에서는 시각장애 대학생을 위 한 진로 및 취업 지원의 실천적인 방향을 제시하였다.
It is needed to extend the connection between employment and higher education of individuals with disabilities and the results are important subject for developing special education in university. Students with disabilities hope to get a well-paid employment after a college graduation. Therefore, they need a job-seeking support as well as learning support. Many students with visual impairment (34%) enter higher educational institutions and few students (45%) found a position. There was no guarantee the quality of employment of students with visual impairment. The study was conducted to understand the experience and assistance request of students with visual impairment and to find a way for supporting career and employment. For the purpose, the group interviews of 11 students with visual impairment and individual interview were carried out. The group and individual interview were analyzed with the counselling and civil petition record of support center and employment support center for disabled students by qualitative analysis. The results of qualitative analysis were classified as follows：1) thinking about employment: Too far away to associate with you, 2) experience of job-seeking: Too bitter for me, 3) request of support: A little closer. The results were presented by 3 themes and 12 sub-theme. The practical support systems for career and employment of students with visual impairment were suggested in the results and discussion.
