This research was aimed to identify path diagram (SEM) for organizational characteristics and team effectiveness
of Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The factors of organizational characteristics were formulation, centralization, communication
and decision making. Fellow satisfaction, team outcomes, team satisfaction and team commitment were used for the
factors of team effectiveness. Subjects were 233 working on ICU and analyzed by SPSS and Amos 4.0. Hypotheses that
formulation and centalization would effect on team outcomes were supported. However, Hypothesis that communication
would effect on team outcomes was denied. Hypotheses that communication would effect on team commiment and fellow
satisfaction were supported. Also, hypothesis that decision making would effect on team commiment was supported.
The path diagram of modified model was significant (c2=143.106, df=88, RMSEA=0.052, TLI=0.96, CFI=0.971). It is needed
to enhance centalization and formulation to increase team outcomes. To develop team commiment, active communication
and decision making is required.
