This research was conducted on funeral homes within hospitals in order to examine the processing of deceased bodies according to health care policies on infection control as well as to study the level of interest on infection control. Funeral homes hold three funerals each day and on average one funeral is for someone who died at the hospital. A total of 78.4% of the dead body transportation is done by those who work in the funeral home. Information between the hospital staff and the dead body transporters is lacking and only 27% of the transfer information is on the topic of infection control. Also, most of the transfer of information is done by word on mouth. A total of 83.3% of the time, the deceased body is first transported without the transporters knowing the caused of death. A total of 78.3% of the time, the death certificate is written before second treatment(yeomseub) to the funeral home. Only 35.1% of the funeral homes receive formal training on infection control. In conclusion, steps in preparing and handling deceased bodies are not properly done in step by step manner and lack of knowledge of infection control is evident.
