This study examined the ranges of occupational key competence including thinking oriented range, relation oriented range, and self-development oriented range by conducting a questionnaire survey on the subjects of 197 hospital level work staff members. From the results, they called for relation oriented competence and self-development oriented competence more than thinking oriented competence. Those hospital level work staff members in their 30s and 40s who were in their vivid social activity period required occupational key competence more than the others. It was found that the bigger the size of the hospital the higher the level of occupational key competence required. Thus, it was found that students attending medical and public health related departments should cultivate competences of communication for organization-inside and outside, mutual respect and communication skills for getting a job, and try to cultivate a sense of responsibility and ethical consciousness.
