This study starts with the point that reading education methods performing at present educational fields, are aimed at building up reading habits for students. To build up reading habits, our schools have been trying various and active educational methods including ‘morning reading for 10 minutes’, ‘reading golden-bell competition’, ‘reading debate’, ‘reading essay’, etc, but it has many difficulties to propel those things for a whole year sustainably and systematically. So, an alternative is to apply reading-journal by taking into consideration for given educational condition. However, this alternative contains problems such as lack of adequate understanding on reading-journal, and lack of after-reading awareness forms with reading steps and cognitive abilities of students. To work out the problems about application of reading-journal, most of all, this study obtains as many materials schools themselves has made and applied as possible. After comparing and analyzing them, this study suggests desirable formats of reading-journal. What is more, it suggests interesting and efficient applying methods considering school curriculum, students’mental and physical developmental condition, steps for their creativity manifestation, and so on. This article introduces the problems, proper concent formation and practical use of reading-journal for schools to get useful information as guidelines when making and applying reading-journal.
