본 연구의 목적은 장애영유아 통합교육에 대한 어린이집 원장의 인식과 요구를 알아보는데 있다. 본 연구를 위해 어린이집 원장의 특성에 관한 문항, 통합교육의 인식에 관한 문항, 통합교육의 요구 에 관한 문항으로 어린이집 원장 118명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 어린이집 원 장은 통합교육의 이해 및 필요성에 대한 인식과 통합교육의 교육 효과에 대한 인식이 높게 나타났다. 인식에 관한 하위 영역에서는 통합교육에 따른 학급 운영에 대한 인식과 어린이집 경영에 대한 인식 이 높게 나타났다. 어린이집 원장의 통합교육을 위한 요구에서는 경제적 지원에 대한 요구가 가장 높 게 나타났고, 그 다음으로 교사 지원에 대한 요구, 물리적 환경에 대한 요구, 학급당 원아 수 개선에 대한 요구 순서로 나타났다. 어린이집 원장의 통합교육에 대한 인식과 요구는 어린이집의 유형과 원 장 재직 중 통합교육 관련 연수 경험에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the directors' perception and needs on the inclusive education for young children with disabilities in child care centers. The study surveyed with 118 directors of child care centers by using survey questions including the characteristics of the directors, perceptions on inclusive education, and needs for inclusive education by the study. According to the results, the directors showed high levels' perception on understanding and needs about inclusive education, educational effects on inclusive education, class management on inclusive education, and management of day care centers regarding inclusive education. Moreover, the directors believed that economical support, teacher support, physical environment, and improvement of number of children by class were needed for more successful inclusive education. In addition, the levels of directors' perception and needs on inclusive education were different by the types of day care centers and experiences of training related to inclusive education.
