본 연구는 고등학교 특수학급을 대상으로 성심리, 성윤리, 성교육에 대한 교사와 부모의 인식 및 두 집단 간 의 인식 차이를 조사․분석함으로써 정신지체학생의 성에 대한 인식의 개선을 도모하고 향후 정신지체학생 성 교육에 대한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있으며 연구를 위해 교사와 부모를 대상으로 설문조사 후 교차분 석을 실시하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 성심리 영역에서는 두 집단 모두 정신지체학생의 성적 발달정도, 관심도를 보통 수준으로 인식했고, 이성교제와 자위행위에는 긍정적인 입장을, 음란물 접촉에는 부정적인 입장을 보였 다. 성윤리 영역에서는 정신지체인의 결혼과 임신에는 긍정적이었지만 양육능력에 대해서는 부정적이었다. 성 폭력 피해가능성은 높게 보는 반면 가해가능성에 대한 입장은 두 집단에서 상이했다. 성교육 영역에서는 부모 가 성교육을 현저히 적게 실시하고 있었고, 두 집단 모두 성교육의 어려움으로 교육내용과 지도방법의 어려움 을 지적했다. 정신지체학생의 건강한 성 정체성확립과 효과적인 성교육을 위해서는 후속 연구에서 학교 현장 의 성교육에 대해 더욱 관심을 가지고 국가 및 교육청, 행정․연구기관에서의 행․재정적 지원이 뒷받침되어야 할 뿐 아니라 교사와 부모를 대상으로 하는 연수 및 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 확대하며 이들의 협력을 지원 해야 할 것이다.
This study is aimed to investigate and analyze the recognition on the teachers and parents on the sexual psychology, sexual ethics, and sex education targeting the special class of a high school in Gyeongsangnam-do and the recognition difference between two groups and to promote the improvement of the recognition on the sex of the mentally-retarded students and provide the basic materials on the sex education for the mentally-retarded students in the special class of high school in the future. To examine the recognition of the parents and teachers on the sexual psychology, sexual ethics, and sex education of the mentally handicapped students, the questionnaire was carried out targeting 80 special teachers in the special class of a high school in Gyeongsangnam-do and 80 parents with the mentally handicapped children. To calculate the result of the questionnaire of which answers were completed, the cross analysis was conducted to examine the recognition of teachers and parents following the variables and the recognition difference between both groups. First, the education on the sex of the mentally handicapped targeting the teachers and parents should be arranged in order to understand the distinctive sexual desire and sexual psychology of the mentally-retarded students more objectively and exactly. Two, to improve the position on the negative sexual ethics of the parents, the attitude improving education should be provided targeting the parents for them to have the open and right recognition and expectation on their children and the development of various programs will be necessary. Third, to conduct the sex education successfully, the teachers and parents should consult about the sex education of the mentally handicapped students positively and share the opinions and the method to exchange the educational contents should be found.
