The purpose of this study was to develop a Courage Scale for Korean. First, 96 preliminary items were developed based on literature review, open-ended questions and interviews. Second, using item evaluation of 11 raters, items were reduced to 76 items. Third, the scale was consist of 76 items administered to 424 adults age 20s to 40s and data were collected. The items of the scale were reduced to 31 items based on item analysis and factor analysis. Four factors were extracted from the factor analysis. Alpha-coefficients of factors was high. And the scale showed a significant positive correlation with a existing courage scale, Courage Measurement. The results of this study indicated that the developed scale measured the courage for koreans in a statistically appropriate way. Implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
