본 연구는 북한이탈주민 어머니의 책읽기 행동특성 및 가정환경과 자녀의 정서지능 간의 관계를 살펴 보고, 자녀의 정서지능에 미치는 영향은 어떠한지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울에 거주하 는 만 4-5세 유아기 자녀를 둔 북한이탈주민 어머니 100명을 대상으로 책읽기 상호작용과 태도, 물리 적, 심리적 가정환경과 자녀의 정서지능 척도를 사용하여 조사한 후, Pearson의 상관관계와 위계적 회귀분석을 사용하여 영향력을 알아보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 책읽기 행동특성 및 가정환경은 자녀의 정서지능과 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 책읽기 행동 특성 및 가정환경의 모든 변인을 투입한 후, 자녀의 정서지능에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 67.3%의 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 북한이탈주민 어머니의 안정적인 정서를 도모할 수 있는 프로그램 개발과 더불어 부모교육 등 단계적이면서, 체계적인 교육이 필요함을 시사하고 있는 것이다.
This study aims to explore the relationship among North Korean Refugee mothers reading behavior characteristics and home environment and their children’s emotional intelligence. For this purpose, response data by 100 North Korean refugee mothers with 3-5 years old children including book-reading interaction and attitude, physical and psychological home environments and their children’s emotional intelligence was analyzed by Pearson correlation analyses and hierarchical regression method. The results of this study were as followed. First, there are positive correlations between mothers’ book-reading behavior characteristics and home environments and their children’s emotional intelligence. Second, mothers’ book-reading behavior characteristics and home environments explained their children’s emotional intelligence 67.3%. These results suggest that systematic parent education programs raising North Korean Refugee mother’s stable emotion are required.
